We are happy to say that Zooniverse is safely back online! Thank you for your patience.

What happened: Zooniverse platform was unexpectedly offline from about 7:30 PM UTC on Tuesday, February 18, until 10:00 PM UTC on Sunday, February 23. This happened because our database slowed down, and moving it to healthy hardware took longer than expected.

Current: Zooniverse is now running smoothly using an updated database system. All volunteer and project data stayed safe and secure throughout, and we ran thorough checks during the migration to be certain.

It is 18 February 2025, and we are aware that due to technical issues beyond our control, some volunteers are unable to access www.zooniverse.org or any of our sub-sites. We apologise for any disruption. We’re monitoring the situation, and will inform you as soon as this is resolved.
