This video plotting the route of the vessel Jeanette was created from data gathered by users in the Old Weather project. It shows the vessel entering the Arctic ice and then becoming trapped there. Once becoming trapped the positional information in its log book serves to measure the flow of the Arctic ice, essentially making it the first ice station!
