The Planet Four project is now focussing on a region of the southern pole on Mars known as ‘Manhattan’. It lies within a larger area of the Martian surface known as the ‘cryptic terrain’, which is an area with a lower albedo that curiously still has the temperature of CO2 ice. The region shows high amounts of fanning activity and strange ‘lace’ patterns similar in structure to the ‘spiders’. You can read more about the Martian Manhattan here and get involved with the classification of it here
