Since it launch just over half a year ago, volunteers on Plankton Portal have contributed a total of 266 days worth of effort. That’s equivalent to someone doing it as a full-time job for 3 years! However, with over 300,000 images, the Plankton Portal dataset is one of the largest in the Zooniverse and even though there have been almost half a million classification made so far the project is only 7% complete.
