There has to be an interesting story behind this one, found in the bottom right part of this log from the USCGC Unalga. As transcribed by Old Weather user Hanibal94:
“Unable to read barometer and thermometer on account of fresh paint.”
… how does that happen, exactly? Someone either goofed or didn’t plan ahead! And now we’re missing a day’s data on account of it. Shame.
