This is one of my favourite graphs of all time (I know! There are so many to choose from, right?). It shows the classification rate on Galaxy Zoo in the first 48 hours after the initial launch back in July 2007. The really cool part is where it crosses the 50,000 classifications per hour mark after only 39 hours of the site being live. It took the scientists behind the project a whole week to do that number of classifications!
You can increase the current classification rate by heading to www.galaxyzoo.org and classifying some galaxies today!
