This great sketch is based entirely on a recent talk given by Galaxy Zoo’s Brooke Simmons when she was attending a meeting bringing together people with diverse expertise to talk about the future of humanitarian aid. The group included people from the tech sector, satellite imagery providers, larger organizations like Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the United Nations, and local groups working on the ground in affected areas.
Her talk focussed on how crowdsourcing in the Zooniverse might be useful in the “digital humanitarian” sphere. Each session had a scribe creating sketches similar to this one. Pretty funky stuff!
