On the day that the team behind the Rosetta mission attempt one of the most audacious feats ever undertaken by human beings, I thought it would be nice to show you this comet found in images from Asteroid Zoo. Comets are large lumps of mostly ice that orbit the Sun on wide, elliptical paths. As they get close to the Sun the ice starts to evaporate, causing the tails we see. Good luck to the Philae lander and the amazing team of scientists who have made the Rosetta mission possible!
