The wonderful light-show in this image is being caused by a very bright star in the upper right. However, in the Talk comments for this picture, one of our excellent moderators on Galaxy Zoo has reminded volunteers to “always classify the object in the center of the image, even if it is the most boring one”! Expert advice indeed.
