The results are in, and after 406 votes were cast, volunteers on Planet Four have chosen to nickname the next region of the Martian surface to be explored on the project – ‘Macclesfield’. The successful nomination was suggested as it is the town in England that is closest to Jodrell Bank, the observatory that hosts BBC Stargazing Live, the TV show that launched Planet Four back in 2013.
