Happy first birthday Shakespeare’s World! Here’s an interesting minced pie recipe that has been transcribed by our volunteers.

“To make minced pyes without meate, or an ege pye./ Take 6 egs and boile them hard chop them so small that you cannot tell what they are with beef suitt so much as you shall thinke fitt, season it with nutmege, sinnamon, mace, and sugar as you doe other minced pyes, you must put in a little veriuce or white wine, rosewater and ambergreece, and carrawaye com= fitts, & bitts of sweet meates, & sirrup.”
