We’re delighted to share that our Zooniverse ALICE app (the Aggregate Line Inspector & Collaborative Editor) has been nominated for Best DH Tool in the 2021 DH Awards, which recognize “talent and expertise in the digital humanities community.”

ALICE helps teams using Zooniverse work with results from their text transcription projects, allowing them to collaboratively view, edit, and export raw and aggregate data. It was built with funding from a Level III Digital Humanities Advancement Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. You can learn more about the app via this virtual poster, created for the 2021 Association for Computers and Humanities conference.

Congratulations as well to the team behind The American Soldier in World War II, which is nominated for Best DH Dataset! This collection of surveys distributed to more than half a million U.S. troops during World War II was created in part by Zooniverse volunteers through their transcription project of the same name.
