One year ago today, Chimp & See came to life at Zooniverse.org with the goal of engaging citizen scientists to help annotate the thousands of hours of camera trap videos from chimpanzee habitats that were collected as part of the PanAfrican Programme: The Cultured Chimpanzee. With your help, we’re thrilled to say that we’ve already completed over 400,000 videos and received over 2.2 million classifications! These videos have included 17 different monkey species, 36 different birds, 27 species of hoofed animals, and dozens of other mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Not to mention our beloved chimps. With your help, over 170 chimpanzees have been identified and named in just 1 year.

To find out more about all that you’ve helped to accomplish in our first year, plus some other fun surprises, including details on how you can win your very own official Chimp & See t-shirt, head over to the Chimp & See blog.
